In one of the most shocking moments in AEW history, the company’s founder and President Tony Khan was attacked on air by Jack Perry and The Young Bucks on Dynamite (April 24).
The angle has had the wrestling world talking, with the potential for a special power struggle between Khan and The Elite at the top of AEW.
However, despite AEW being Khan’s company he is obviously going to need some big names to back him up and do the physical heavy-lifting in this feud.
Although many stars rushed down to the ring to check on Khan following the attack, we feel some big stars may need to return to counter-balance this new look Elite.
So with that said here is a list of four top stars who could soon make their return to TV to help Tony Khan.
4. Kenny Omega
Starting with what has to be the most obvious answer first, not only has Kenny Omega been officially confirmed for next week’s AEW Dynamite in his hometown of Winnipeg, MB – but he obviously has the closest ties to The Elite.
I mean up until The Bucks made their return as heels and booted him out, Omega was The Elite and arguably the leading at that.
He’s also still currently an EVP of AEW – holding the same amount of power as Matthew and Nicholas. But instead of allowing that to go to his head, what if he came back and used some of that power to aid Tony Khan in bringing down The New Elite.
There is nobody closer tied to the situation and nobody that fans would rather see jump to Khan’s aid.
Obviously if Omega’s health is not permitting a return then he won’t and shouldn’t get involved. At least in a physical capacity, but here’s hoping we get some good news on Wednesday.
