Edge vs. Randy Orton At WrestleMania
Another match that has been heavily rumoured for the next edition of the ‘Showcase of the Immortals’ is Randy Orton vs Edge.
You’re probably checking the title of this to make sure you didn’t accidentally click on 2020 rumours, but no, a rematch does indeed seem to be the plan for Mania 37, and it’s even been said that it could well be the main event.
Unless he has another before then, this would mean that Edge’s first four matches back since his 2011 retirement would have been a Rumble and three matches against Orton.
Would that be a bit of a disappointment? Yes. There’s not even a clever bit to add to that. Just, straight up, yes, that would be pretty disappointing.
Edge has been out injured since June when he suffered torn triceps while he and Orton were taping the “Greatest Wrestling Match Ever” for Backlash, but he should be back in time to build to something at WrestleMania.
It had also been said that the planned match could possibly be for the WWE Title, and when Randy Orton won it at Hell in a Cell, it seemed we may have been heading in that direction. Then he lost it again three weeks later, so that was fun and definitely not pointless at all.
