10 Big WWE Surprises & Plans Rumoured For 2021

Undertaker To Return… Again?

On the topic of doing things again and again and again, it’s quite ironic that the “Deadman” keeps coming back to life, and if you’re certain that the Survivor Series farewell really was his… farewell, you’re a bit of a maniac.

Getting a bunch of old men to waddle down to the ring during a pandemic, only for them to completely disappear after a video package, and then for another old man to welcome out the old man we’re supposedly saying goodbye to, wasn’t really a fitting end to the most legendary career in wrestling history.

With the fake Undertaker chants mentioned earlier, and the lack of any fans physically there to actually say thank you and goodbye, the artist formerly known as Mean Mark frankly deserves more. Even his good friend the Godfather agreed the farewell was “boring”.

Obviously, we’ve all had to make do with the situation this year, so we can’t exactly put all the blame on WWE, but when things are a bit more normal, Taker definitely deserves a more fitting sendoff.

If we can indeed get fans back for shows next year, it’s definitely possible we’ll see the Phenom once more. Hopefully it’s just for another goodbye though, because if he has another match, we might as well just give up and accept that he’s never going to stop.

A Pay-Per-View In The UK

If the pandemic does start to let up, another thing that’ll be made a heck of a lot easier will be travel, which opens up the possibility of FINALLY getting a pay-per-view here in the UK.

This isn’t just us clutching at straws and hoping though. WWE Champion Drew McIntyre has stated that he’s going to “harass” Vince McMahon to make it happen, adding that he’ll do “whatever it takes to get the UK a significant pay-per-view”.

McIntyre has been trading shots with Manchester’s two-time Heavyweight World Boxing Champion Tyson Fury for what seems like forever, seemingly trying to build heat for a possible future match.

Fury has one WWE match to his name thus far, which was a countout win over Braun Strowman at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia – somewhere else WWE could also return to in 2021 if it becomes possible – which was in October 2019, and he was also apparently supposed to be at WrestleMania 36 originally too.

Despite having a less threatening voice than a three-year-old on helium, Fury is a very big name in the UK, and if he was to be involved in a WWE event over here, there would definitely be some more interest from non-WWE fans than there would be without him.

Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania

Speaking of the UK, WWE’s biggest star of the last couple of years Becky Lynch has really been missed since she announced she was pregnant in May and would be taking time away.

Yes, I am aware that Ireland isn’t actually in the UK, but it’s the best I could do for a segue here, so as The Man herself would say, “kiss my foot, you little weirdo”.

And who did she say that to? That’s right, it was Ronda Rousey, and it sounds the two could be going one-on-one at WrestleMania if Vinnie Mac has his way.

It was WrestlingNews.co who had reported this to be the case, but obviously it all depends on how long Lynch will need off to take care of her and fiance Seth Rollins’ newborn.

Rousey has been training for a few months now ahead of a possible return, and with her contract expiring on April 10, 2021 as of the last word, that leaves time for a big Mania match before that date.

The timing between Lynch giving birth and Mania taking place could be cause for concern, but if all goes smoothly, we could finally be looking at the match we should have been given in the main event of WrestleMania in 2019 before the OmniFlair struck.
