The Hardy Boyz have together been known as the innovators of the TLC ladder match, and with good reason. Performing high-risk maneuvers from 20+ foot ladders to entertain the millions of wrestling fans watching around the world on multiple occasions gives you fair ownership to that title.
Some of the best TLC matches to date include the Hardy Boyz as competitors for tag team gold.
3. Becoming ‘Broken’
You can only be a fearless daredevil for so long before you break. Matt hardy underwent a change in gimmick, from a daredevil to someone who had been ‘Broken’ in 2016, playing the role of a strange and unusual man with a dark side to him, who aimed to DELETE! not only his brother Jeff, but really just about anyone. You. Me. Anyone.
This was a refreshing character change for Hardy, who took it and ran with it so much so it became one of the beloved gimmicks in all of wrestling. It even won the 2016 Wrestling Observer Newsletter ‘Best Gimmick’ award!
