12. Undertaker Kills Hulkamania (1991)
One year prior The Undertaker had debuted at Survivor Series to much fanfare, destroying the opposing team before a count out took him out of the match (and away from an early main event showdown with Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior).
By 1991 Undertaker was one of the most over stars on the roster and was lined up for a WWE Title match with the invincible Hulkster.
Most expected Undertaker to be another monster for the red and yellow one to slay. After all, there was no way WWE were going to put the top prize – a belt that had been protected so well for so many years – on a novelty act like the Dead Man.
Only they did. Thanks to shenanigans, Undertaker pinned Hogan and won his first WWE Title (and his last for over five years). Hulkamania was dead!
. . . For a few days. Hogan won the title back at This Tuesday In Texas with more shenanigans, leading to the title getting stripped and vacated and Ric Flair crowned as The Man at Royal Rumble ’92.
