2 Ways John Oliver Is Right On WWE (And 3 Ways WWE Can Fix That)

Problem 2: There are no Breaks

Traditionally, an independent contractor is able to choose when and where they work. Exact hours can always vary. But an independent contractor chooses which projects they take on.

WWE does give its workers some leeway. Expecting them to work through injury is thankfully no longer the norm. However, it’s still nowhere close to the freedom granted to an independent contractor.

Roman Reigns, having missed months to his victorious leukemia battle, has discussed the creative and physical benefits of an off-season. Similarly, former WWE Champion AJ Styles has experienced burnout. His new contract is speculated to include fewer appearances at house shows.
