FTR are pretty much universally loved by AEW fans, but despite being very good friends with them, CM Punk is not, especially not right now.

If you want Punk to come in and get a positive reaction, realigning him with FTR could be the way to do that.

There’s a chance it could go the other way and rather than the fans starting to be more positive to Punk, they’d start being more negative to FTR, but either way, you’ve got yourselves a top trio, whether they’re heels or babyfaces – and if the match is in Chicago, they’re going to be babyfaces, even if every other place in the world hates them.

Plus, it might be safer for Punk to wrestle primarily trios matches rather than long singles matches to help protect him from further injuries.

The idea of him being put with FTR is a good one, but let’s go one step even further…
