14. John Cena vs. Carlito vs. Chris Masters vs. Kurt Angle vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Kane – New Year’s Revolution 2006
This is a bizarre Chamber match for a few reasons. At first glance you might think that two of the names in the lineup do not quite fit with the others and you would be right to think that.
Carlito and Chris Masters were far from main event talents in the mid 2000s. So that makes it odd that they would be included in a WWE Championship Elimination Chamber match and odder still that they would be the two featured heels in the match. Masters and Carlito teamed up to eliminate Shawn Michaels and disposed of Kane soon after. This left them alone with John Cena. Not to be trusted, Carlito turned on Masters leading to the quick eliminations of both men. This allowed Cena to escape the match with the WWE Championship.
Similar to Cena’s win in 2010, this match is remembered for what happened following its conclusion. With Cena exhausted, Edge appeared and cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to win the WWE Championship for the first time. A decent Chamber match was completely overshadowed by the culmination of Edge’s hard work in a moment that would be replayed for years.
13. Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman vs. John Cena vs. Elias vs. Seth Rollins vs. The Miz vs. Finn Balor – Elimination Chamber 2018
The only Chamber match to feature seven participants instead of six. In the grand scheme of things, there wasn’t much reason for this. The addition of the extra person just allowed Braun Strowman to pin another person on his way to not winning again.
This match was frustrating for a few reasons. When it was reported that Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar was the plan for WrestleMania 34 fans revolted at the idea of Reigns in the main event again. This match was the last chance for a lot of people who wanted something else. Unfortunately for those people, they did not get it. Strowman pinned Rollins, Elias, Balor, Miz, and Cena en route to being pinned with a Spear from Roman Reigns. Seen as the same thing that had occurred the prior three years, fans were not pleased and the booking ruined a decent match.
2018 did not go the way that Reigns or anyone in WWE wanted it to go but that does not change this match for better or worse.
12. Chris Jericho vs. Undertaker vs. John Morrison vs. Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk vs. R-Truth – Elimination Chamber 2010
A much better match than its Raw counterpart, the World Heavyweight Championship Chamber match had a little bit of everything.
After eliminating R-Truth very early on, CM Punk got on the mic to deliver another brilliant Straightedge sermon. Upon Rey Mysterio’s entrance to the match, Punk was eliminated after a brutal hurricanrana on the metal grate. Mysterio and John Morrison would keep the match going before being joined by Chris Jericho and Undertaker. Morrison hung with the main eventers in this match before being eliminated by Undertaker. Jericho and Undertaker were the final two before Shawn Michaels broke into the cage to cost Undertaker the match.
As a result, Jericho captured his sixth World Championship and Shawn Michaels got his desired WrestleMania match with the Undertaker. An all-around success this was.
