Keeping it Kayfabe #1

BECAUSE… REASONS.

It’s as if the storylines revolving around WWE Raw Women’s Champion, Alexa Bliss, occur in their own pocket universe, one that reboots itself without warning every six months. Take Mickie James’s inexplicable and completely unearned heel turn as Bliss’s latest lackey – quite the mouthful that last bit, I know. If WWE wants to tout its angles and in-ring promos as scripts and their backstage vignettes and scenes equivalent to making a movie, then they need to subscribe to the barest of logical consistencies week to week. Such is the randomness of Bliss’s world at the moment, one where her catty taunts behind the back of Nia Jax were revealed, apropos of nothing, CCTV style for Jax and the rest of the world to see across the Titantron.

If Jax v Bliss is the endgame, fine, but there has to be less contrived manners to get this point across. With all the desired social media engagement WWE seeks, how cool could it have been to follow along on Twitter as Bliss “accidentally” publicly tweets an intended DM (direct message) to James about Jax only for Jax to comment on it with the payoff culminating on Raw, rather than the awkward dressing room meltdown (?) that Jax closed their scene with.
