For the sixth time, WWE is set to hold a Women’s Royal Rumble match at the namesake premium live event.
Last year, Ronda Rousey made her return to WWE to emerge victorious in the bout.
This year’s match is a lot more unpredictable, as there are a number of women who could end up pointing at the sign in San Antonio.
We already predicted the entrants in the men’s Rumble, which you can see here, but now it’s the ladies’ turn.
Here is our prediction for all 30 entrants in the 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble.
Confirmed Participants
We start with the names that we know are in the match, so we may as well just smash them all out here.
Those names as of right now are:
Liv Morgan
Rhea Ripley
Candice LeRae
Raquel Rodriguez
So now we go about filling the rest of the field, starting with…
Bayley, Becky Lynch
The women’s Rumble is going to be pretty stacked this year, and that’s mainly due to these two right here.
Becky and Bayley are in a feud right now, with no titles involved in the rivalry, it seems likely that they’ll both be in the Royal Rumble.
Bayley probably won’t win, but Becky Lynch may well, but the match will be better off for them both being involved in the match.
Becky could either eliminate all of Damage CTRL, or vice versa.
Speaking of…
Dakota Kai, IYO SKY
It seems as though WWE is setting up Candice LeRae and Michin Mia Yim as the next Women’s Tag Team Championship challengers for Dakota and IYO.
However, we already know Candice is in the Rumble, so that would likely mean the title match doesn’t take place then.
Plus, Damage CTRL has been a focal point of WWE television since they debuted back at SummerSlam, so them being in the match would make a lot of sense.
IYO is also a good choice for the iron woman match, with her getting a lot of fun interactions with other women.
SPEAKING. OF. WHICH…
KAIRI
The first-ever IWGP Women’s Champion has been making a lot of headlines recently, defending the title for the first time at Wrestle Kingdom 17.
She’s been rumoured for a spot in the Rumble for a few months, and I can see her being that big ‘Forbidden Door’ entrant this year.
I don’t think the belt makes TV this year though, which is a shame.
‘Michin’ Mia Yim
OK I just wanted the nice segue into talking about KAIRI but yes as we said earlier, it’s likely the Tag Title match doesn’t take place at the Rumble.
That would obviously free our girl Michin up for a spot in the match.
I can see this being a great showcase for the honorary OC member, either picking up a lot of eliminations or surviving for a long time.
She won’t win, but she’ll be better off coming out of the match.
Shotzi
Shotzi is currently out of action with a broken hand, and she was set to miss six weeks of action.
That time puts her right in line for a Royal Rumble return, so here she is.
Emma, Scarlett
I have lumped Emma and Scarlett together due to them currently being involved in a feud together.
The Royal Rumble match needs several plot threads, and continuing Scarlett and Emma’s beef would be an easy one.
Xia Li
For a week or two it seemed as though Triple H was looking to rebuild Xia Li.
She was revealed as the masked attacker who attacked Tegan Nox during her and Liv Morgan’s Tag Team Championship match with Damage CTRL.
She then had a decent showing in the gauntlet match the following week, and things seemed to be looking up.
However, a few weeks off TV and a decisive defeat to Tegan Nox later, and she’s right back where she started.
Maybe the Rumble could be a decent place to rebuild her.
Tegan Nox
Tegan would be entering her second Royal Rumble match, having appeared in the 2020 match too.
She’s another who could make a decent impression in the match.
Aliyah
Aliyah hasn’t been seen on WWE television since her and Raquel Rodriguez lost the Women’s Tag Team Championship to Damage CTRL in September.
She was out of action with an injury for a while, but she’s reportedly cleared to return, and is waiting on creative for her to be put into place.
Putting her in the Rumble is a good, simple option to bring her back.
Remember that above line, it’s going to be coming up a lot as we make our way through the entrants here.
Alba Fyre
Nobody on the current NXT roster needs a call-up more than Alba Fyre right now.
Trying and failing to beat Mandy Rose for the NXT Women’s title what felt like 49 times, she really has nothing left to accomplish down there.
Introducing her to the main roster audience as a part of the Royal Rumble similar to other NXT names in the past seems the best option.
Carmella
Remember what I said earlier about the Rumble being an easy way to bring back people who haven’t been around in a while?
Carmella hasn’t been on WWE television since July 18, and hasn’t wrestled in general since August 8.
She’s had a lot of crap happen in her personal life, so if she’s still not ready to go then that’s completely understandable, but she’d be a welcome return to add depth to the Raw women’s division.
Nikki Cross
Nikki Cross has been lingering in the background during Candice LeRae related segments in recent weeks.
She’ll likely eliminate Candice from the match to build that feud up more.
Shayna Baszler
I have no idea where or what or why Ronda Rousey is after losing to Charlotte.
Shayna may have to carry that flag by herself in this year’s Rumble.
Lacey Evans
There have been weekly vignettes hyping up Lacey Evans’ WWE return to SmackDown.
You forgot, I forgot, I forget every week until I see one, then as soon as it’s over I forget again, but they exist.
Her returning in the Royal Rumble makes sense.
Wait… who were we talking about?
Dana Brooke, Tamina
We need to fill out the numbers.
Cora Jade
NXT names making appearances in the Royal Rumble is something that we see every year.
Cora’s likely wouldn’t be an official call-up like Alba’s earlier, but an appearance in the match would be fun.
She’d probably align with Bayley and Damage CTRL for a bit because they are always teasing that interaction on Twitter.
Beth Phoenix
We haven’t seen Beth Phoenix on WWE TV since she was taken out by Rhea Ripley back at Extreme Rules.
Everyone is expecting her to return to get revenge on Rhea, and the Rumble seems the right place for her to do that.
It wouldn’t work, because Rhea could end up winning the entire match, but hey at least she tried.
Chelsea Green
Chelsea Green has reportedly already re-signed with WWE, and is waiting for creative to come up with a plan for her return.
I think it’s all but guaranteed we see Chelsea return in the match.
Doudrop
Speaking of people who could return in the match.
Doudrop is reportedly expected to be in the match after a few months away, so again, the Rumble would be a good place for her to return.
Indi Hartwell
Indi Hartwell is another NXT name that really needs a call-up at this point.
She’s treading water in NXT, and could easily come to the main roster to reunite with Candice LeRae on Raw.
Then Candice can be a part of an actual women’s team rather than a makeshift one with Michin. Imagine that.
Asuka
Asuka has been in Japan for a while now, last being seen on Raw when she teased a character change before losing to Rhea Ripley.
The Rumble makes sense to bring her back, and she could honestly be a dark horse to win it all.
Dark Asuka winning the Rumble to face off with the woman that ended her streak five years ago for the exact same belt? Sign me up.
Naomi
Right so I promise this is the last time.
Mercedes Mone made her NJPW debut back Wrestle Kingdom 17, and is officially out of WWE.
When WWE moved Sasha to the alumni section, they kept Naomi on the active roster, so she is clearly still under contract to the company.
Bringing her back in the Rumble would be a great moment.
If they really wanted to make a statement, Naomi would win the whole thing, but I’m not sure that’s likely.
