At AEW All Out 2026, The Young Bucks defeated FTR and Cope and Cage in a three-way Ladder Match to win the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
Starting their record-breaking fourth reign with the gold, The Bucks have already successfully defended the titles against The Dogs at Grand Slam France and the Don Callis Family pairing of Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight at WrestleDream 2026.
While it’s still uncertain how long this run will last, it is interesting to look at the various options for who could dethrone Matt and Nick Jackson down the road.
Here are five potential next AEW World Tag Team Champions after The Young Bucks.
The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley)
In July, The Motor City Machine Guns made their official AEW debut with the company.
Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley recently made their return after going on tour with their band to challenge FTR to a Best of Five Series.
It is not out of the realm of possibility that the winner of this series will go on to challenge for the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
With The Guns winning Match #1 at WrestleDream 2026, Sabin and Shelley could advance to challenge and potentially defeat The Young Bucks for the titles.
FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler)
On the same note, FTR could get themselves back into title contention by winning the Best of Five Series.
Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler came up short against The Motor City Machine Guns in Match #1 in the Best of Five Series at WrestleDream 2026.
FTR squaring off with The Young Bucks again has all the makings to be another classic between these legendary duos.
Looking to tie their record four reigns as AEW World Tag Team Champions, FTR might be next in line to be the titleholders.
Davis & Doyle (Mark Davis & Jake Doyle)
On the October 21 edition of AEW Dynamite, The Young Bucks faced Davis and Doyle in an AEW World Tag Team Championship Eliminator Match.
Mark Davis and Jake Doyle came together as members of the Don Callis Family.
With their size and strength, Davis and Doyle have made for a formidable tandem.
After this bout with The Bucks, Davis and Doyle could work their way up and become the next AEW World Tag Team Champions.
Brodido (Brody King & Bandido)
In 2025, Brodido came together as a new duo and quickly found success in AEW.
At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2025, Brodido defeated FTR and The Hurt Syndicate to win the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
2026 has seen even more success for Brody King and Bandido as the tag team joined forces with “Hangman” Adam Page to become AEW World Trios Champions twice.
When their second run with the trios titles is done, Brodido could square off with The Young Bucks one more time and dethrone them for the tag gold.
The New Level (Kofi & Austin Creed)
At AEW All In London 2026, The New Level arrived in All Elite Wrestling.
In their debut match, The New Level teamed with Swerve Strickland to win the Trios Roulette Royale and capture the AEW World Trios Championships.
Kofi and Austin Creed also expressed their desire to win the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
In what will be a dream match a decade in the making, The New Level could be the ones to take down The Young Bucks and capture their first tag titles in AEW sometime soon.
