Don Callis Calls AEW Star ‘Maybe His Greatest Accomplishment In Terms Of Recruiting’

Don Callis has praised a current AEW star, calling the wrestler his greatest accomplishment in terms of recruitment.

Overseeing numerous stars in the Don Callis Family, Callis has highlighted one name in particular as the star he believes will bring the AEW World Championship back to the group.

Speaking on TMZ’s Inside The Ring, Don Callis stated that “some days”, Mark Davis is his favorite wrestler in the world.

Stating that Davis is maybe his best recruiting accomplishment, Callis said:

“Listen, I don’t have favorites. The apple of my eye can shift around a little bit sometimes, on a week-to-week basis. I think Mark Davis is maybe the greatest accomplishment that I’ve ever had, in terms of recruiting someone, bringing them in.

“Mark Davis is a future world champion. In fact, I believe Mark Davis is a guy who is going to bring the AEW World Title back to the Don Callis Family. Once he does his business with a little London luck at All In, Mark Davis is going to be the AEW World Champion.

“When you look at Mark Davis, this is a guy who’s 6’4, he’s 260 pounds. He reminds people of Bruiser Brody, Terry Gordy, Stan Hansen. He is relentless. Mark Davis, some days, is my favorite wrestler in the world. he’s just such an incredible athlete. Again, big hands, long arms, that’s how we scout them here.”

Mark Davis is expected to compete in the Casino Gauntlet match on Sunday (August 30). This match will see MJF and Andrade El Idolo start in the ring, and more stars enter at separate intervals until a single fall takes place.

The winner of this fall will win the match, and earn a shot at the AEW World Championship.

The AEW World Champion will be a former Don Callis guy following All In London, with Kenny Omega set to defend his gold against Owen Hart Foundation Tournament winner Will Ospreay.

Ospreay notably defeated Davis in a Mexico City Street Fight at Grand Slam Mexico on August 5.
