At AEW WrestleDream 2026, Konosuke Takeshita was one of two stars to be eliminated from the first ever Clockwork Carnage.
This puzzled many fans who expected Takeshita to make it to the scoring phase of the inaugural bout.
Considering his push has been somewhat diminished, it feels like AEW needs to do something to revive the momentum for “The Alpha.”
Here are some potential Konosuke Takeshita AEW future plans.
Regain the AEW International Championship from Kazuchika Okada
At AEW Double Or Nothing 2026, Konosuke Takeshita defeated Kazuchika Okada to win the AEW International Championship.
However, Takeshita’s second reign with the title was short-lived when his former friend Kyle Fletcher dethroned him for the gold at AEW Dynamite: Beach Break 2026.
After once again losing in the three-way match at AEW All In London 2026, Okada got the one up on his former Don Callis Family stablemate by eliminating him from Clockwork Carnage at WrestleDream.
Looking to avenge these losses, Takeshita should challenge and look to regain the International Title for a third time against Okada sooner rather than later.
Settle the score with Kyle Fletcher

As previously mentioned, Kyle Fletcher defeated Konosuke Takeshita to win the AEW International Championship at Beach Break this year.
Both men came up short against Kazuchika Okada in a three-way at AEW All In London 2026.
Since then, it has felt like the rivalry between Fletcher and Takeshita is still unsettled.
Looking to conclude their feud, Takeshita could reignite his feud with “The Protostar” to gain the spotlight once again.
Join Will Ospreay’s United Empire
Following AEW All In London 2026, Will Ospreay announced he was bringing United Empire to All Elite Wrestling.
Since then, Ospreay has added Speedball Mike Bailey and The Brawling Birds to the group’s ranks.
With the international feel for this version of the stable, Ospreay could look to a former rival and stablemate for the newest addition.
Ospreay calling upon Takeshita would give United Empire another top in-ring performer that could very well further establish the faction in a major way moving forward.
Dethrone Will Ospreay for the AEW World Championship

While he could join United Empire, Konosuke Takeshita may look to revive his momentum by challenging Will Ospreay for the AEW World Title instead.
Since Ospreay arrived in All Elite Wrestling, Takeshita has been a consistent rival.
The two men clashed for the first time at AEW Revolution 2024 and then again in the Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament Semifinals at Spring Break Thru 2025.
Takeshita colliding with Ospreay again might be the best way to elevate him up the card and could see him capturing the AEW World Championship for the first time.
