Will Ospreay Comments After Kenny Omega Attack At AEW Redemption 2026

Here’s what happened with Will Ospreay after AEW Redemption went off the air, following Kenny Omega’s attack.

The July 26 pay-per-view saw Omega defend his AEW World Championship against Kevin Knight, however it’s the post-match segment which got fans talking.

Following Kenny Omega earning the three-count, Jon Moxley, Marina Shafir, Daniel Garcia, Wheeler Yuta, Pac and Claudio Castagnoli took to the ring to attack the champion, and subsequently the Young Bucks when they attempted to make the save.

This led to Will Ospreay running down, and ultimately choosing to rip up the plastic bag instead of using it to suffocate Omega.

After Will Ospreay disposed of the other Death Riders members, he and Omega celebrated together. Omega then betrayed Ospreay, hitting him with a One Winged Angel.

The show went off the air with Kenny Omega celebrating on the ramp, telling the doctor to check on Ospreay.

AEW has now shared a digital exclusive video, showing Will Ospreay following the end of the pay-per-view.

In the video, Ospreay struggles to walk up the ramp, before pointing at the graphic for his match against Omega at All In London.

Turning to the camera, Ospreay then said:

“Game on.”

Ospreay’s entrance music then played as he made his way up the ramp and waved to fans in attendance.

Will Ospreay earned the right to challenge for the AEW World Championship at All In London after winning the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, defeating Swerve Strickland in the final at Forbidden Door on June 28.

Omega won the AEW World Championship shortly after this, winning the gold from MJF at the July 8 Dynamite: Beach Break special in a match where if he would’ve lost, he would’ve never been able to challenge for the AEW World Title ever again.

Following Ospreay and Omega’s IWGP US Championship instant classics at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 and AEW/NJPW Forbidden Door 2023, there had been a lot of speculation about the character dynamics heading into August 30.

While Omega attacking Ospreay would indicate that the champion will be the heel and challenger face, there’s still a month’s worth of build to go before AEW takes over Wembley Stadium.
