Another Title Change At AEW Redemption 2026

Another title change took place at tonight’s inaugural AEW Redemption pay-per-view event in Montreal, Canada.

With the inaugural AEW Redemption pay-per-view taking place tonight, we have seen a number of big moments on the show.

Earlier in the night, Maya World captured her first championship in AEW, defeating Hikaru Shida to win the TBS Championship.

Maya wasn’t the only person to capture gold tonight in Montreal, Canada, with another AEW star winning gold for the first time.

Andrade El Idolo Wins AEW National Championship At Redemption

Later in the night, Mark Davis of the Don Callis Family would defend his AEW National Championship against Andrade El Idolo following Andrade leaving the group back at Forbidden Door.

Andrade would end up picking up the win in the match, winning him the National Championship, his first championship of his AEW career.

Andrade becomes only the fourth AEW National Champion, following Ricochet, Jack Perry and Mark Davis’ runs with the title after it’s introduction last year.

Who Will Be Next To Fly The Don Callis Family Next?

While many would argue the group is too bloated in terms of numbers, The Don Callis Family has proven to be effective in pushing forward the careers of the majority of its members, with even the more lowly members of the group like Lance Archer and Brian Cage benefitting from the association with an increase in TV time.

However, as many positives as there’s been, it feels as if some of its members may benefit more at this point from flying the next and venturing out on their own.

Kevin Knight’s arrival has put him in direct competition with fellow young rising heel star Kyle Fletcher, and it’s already abundantly clear that there two egos are too large to co-exist.

With Knight being the more recent arrival, it feels likelier that Fletcher may be the one to part ways with Callis eventually, as the Canadian hitches his wagon to ‘The Jet’ rather than ‘The Protostar.’

Kazuchika Okada is another name who feels destined to go out on his own eventually as well. While his heel work has been thoroughly entertaining, many fans will be crying out for ‘The Rainmaker’ to rediscover his NJPW top babyface energy and make himself a fixture of the AEW World Title scene.
