A WWE star has seemingly finished up with Lucha Libre AAA following a loss at AAA Verano De Escandalo.

After 168 days as AAA World Mixed Tag Team Champions, Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana’s title reign came to an end at last night’s AAA Verano De Escandalo event, with the pair being dethroned by Laredo Kid and La Hiedra.

The loss not only saw La Hiedra finally reclaim the gold that she previously held with Mr. Iguana last year, but it has also seemingly spelled the end of Vice’s time in Mexico.

Taking to Twitter immediately after the loss, Vice sent what appeared to be a farewell message to AAA, writing:

Thank you Mexico. I love you

Then, today in a follow up post, Vice shared an image of the green ring gear she wore for last night’s match lying on the ground, adding to the expectation that she’s potentially wrestled her last match in AAA, for the time being at least.

Neither AAA or Vice have come out and outright stated that her time in the promotion is over as of the time of writing, but we will provide further updates on her status as any more information becomes available.

WWE SmackDown Move Beckoning For Lola Vice After SummerSlam?

Much like after WrestleMania, WWE SummerSlam could see some shake-ups to the Raw and SmackDown rosters.

We already know that former WWE star Big Cass will be making his return on the Monday, August 3 episode of Raw, seemingly on his own, despite previous reports that his former partner Enzo Amore was also set to re-sign with WWE.

As well as Cass however, we could also potentially see some NXT call-ups make a splash on the red or blue brand, with Lola Vice arguably at the top of the list for most likely signings for either show.

The August 4 episode of NXT will see Vice challenge Kendal Grey in an Underground Match for the NXT Women’s Championship, the same title Vice lost to Grey back at the June 28 WWE Great American Bash PLE.

A loss to Grey in that rematch will leave Vice with little else to really stick around for in NXT, with it feeling like the right time for WWE to pull the trigger on moving her up to main roster.

Of the two brands, SmackDown seems the likelier bet. For one, the first SmackDown after SummerSlam will take place on August 7, which is, of course, three days after Vice’s match with Grey, allowing for a swift call-up. And secondly, Vice is in a relationship with SmackDown’s Damian Priest, so WWE may decide to keep the pair together on the same show, as they have done in the past with other couples.
