WWE Plans To Increase Use Of AI Despite Fan Backlash

WWE is reportedly planning to increase its use of AI going forward despite the backlash it’s receiving from many fans.

Over the past few months, WWE has increasingly used AI for things like match graphics on social media, with imperfections often being picked up on and mocked by fans.

WWE has also utilized AI to some degree as a tool during its creative process, which was confirmed by TKO Chief Operating Officer Mark Shapiro who said Triple H and Nick Khan use it to assess how storylines are resonating with fans.

Despite the number of fans and even WWE stars, including Danhausen and Brie Bella, who have been vocal with their criticisms of AI (see the video below), the company doesn’t seem to plan on stopping and will actually be “increasing” its AI usage as time goes on.

While WWE is well aware of the negative online reaction to its use of AI in match graphics, promotional posters, and other materials, the company plans to continue increasing its use of AI-generated content both on and off screen over the coming months.

The AAA brand in particular has used quite a large amount of AI for things like promo videos during its shows over the past few months.

There was one notable example of a Dominik Mysterio video package that aired on a WWE AAA episode a number of months back where the AI actually generated an AEW logo on Mysterio’s AAA Mega Championship belt.

Human creativity has always been a major part of pro-wrestling, and WWE is seemingly alienating a growing amount of people as it takes that element away from its products and programming via the use of AI.
