Sheamus Next Move After WWE Departure Revealed

A potential next move for Sheamus following his WWE departure has been revealed after news of his exit from the company came out recently.

After a run with WWE that started in 2007, Sheamus’ tenure has come to an end after he rejected a “restructured” contract offer – which essentially means the company wanted to give him a paycut and he declined.

When the news came out, Sheamus rebranded his social media by removing all the WWE references and changing his profile names to S Farrelly in reference to his real name, Stephen Farrelly.

While he’s reportedly still under contract for the time being and it’s unknown exactly when that period will end, it seems he is already branching out with his future plans.

Tonight, Liverpool FC’s pre-season gets underway with a friendly against Sunderland, taking place in Nashville, Tennessee at Geodis Park.

During LFC TV’s pre-match coverage, noted Liverpool fan Farrelly made an appearance giving something of a tour of Nashville, which is his adopted hometown over in the US.

He was introduced as “S Farrelly, formerly known as Sheamus,” so this clearly wasn’t a WWE project and could be a sign of things to come for Farrelly as he’ll no longer have to get things live this approved by WWE in the future.

It’s not like this is the first time Farrelly has taken part in an LFC project and he did so multiple times when he was with WWE, but tonight could be an indication that this is something he’ll get more involved with now that he’s out of the WWE confines and restrictions.

Should AEW Sign Sheamus?

Since the news of Sheamus leaving WWE emerged, there has been the obvious speculation about a move to AEW.

While there are concerns about AEW bringing in yet another former WWE name, Sheamus is someone who should be seen as an exception, as he is genuinely one of the most recognizable and memorable stars of the past 15-20 years.

Even people who don’t watch wrestling super regularly would recognize Sheamus thanks to both his unique look and the success of his WWE run.

There are certainly some of the recently released stars that AEW should perhaps avoid so as to not over saturate the roster, but Sheamus is someone that should be brought in, assuming he wants to.
