A World Championship match has been made official for AEW All In London following a title change at Redemption.

At AEW Forbidden Door, Mercedes Mone would officially punch her ticket to a Women’s World Championship match at All In London, when she defeated Maya World to win the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament for the second straight year.

While we know Mercedes will be in the title match at All In, we did not know who she would be facing off against on the night.

Willow Nightingale Wins AEW Women’s World Championship

At tonight’s AEW Redemption pay-per-view event in Montreal, AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla would defend her title against Willow Nightingale.

In the end, Willow would pick up the victory over Thekla, ending her run with the title and finally capturing the Women’s World Championship for the first time in her career.

Following her win, it was confirmed that Willow Nightingale will now defend the AEW Women’s World Championship against Mercedes Mone in Wembley Stadium at All In London.

Thekla Left Out In The Cold For All In?

While Willow Nightingale vs. Mercedes Mone is arguably the biggest and best match AEW could run at All In, the timing is rather harsh on Thekla, whose five month run as champion was cut short just before the show.

With Mercedes vs. Willow set for the show, and the Women’s Tag Team Championship match likely between Divine Dominion and the Brawling Birds, Thekla will likely end up without a championship match at All In.

AEW ran a Women’s Casino Gauntlet match at last year’s All In event which was won by Athena, with that being the likely role most of the unaccounted for women will play at this year’s show, including Thekla, Athena, Kris Statlander, TBS Champion Maya World and potential surprise additions like Kairi Sane, Kay Lee Ray and Dani Luna.

However, Thekla being one of many women in a Gauntlet would almost be too little of a role on the show after her breakout year, with her rivalry with Taro Okada and STARDOM worthy of her being put in a big time grudge match on the show against a member of the STARDOM roster, with Syuri, who appeared on last year’s AEW All In show, being a likely choice for the role.
