WWE Stars To Join Motor City Machine Guns In AEW

On the July 30 episode of AEW Collision, former WWE stard The Motor City Machine Guns made their official debut with All Elite Wrestling and announced they had signed with the promotion.

Following this hometown arrival to the company for Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley, there could be other former and current WWE stars who return to the company over the months to come.

Considering the success of others who made similar jumps like Swerve Strickland, Tommaso Ciampa and ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm, there are quite a few names who have established themselves in WWE who could do the same, if not more, in AEW.

Here are eight WWE stars to potentially join The Motor City Machine Guns in AEW.

8. The New Day/Daybreak (Kofi & Austin Creed)

The entire wrestling world was left stunned when it was announced that The New Day had departed WWE on May 2 after the company asked them to take a pay cut.

Following their 90-day non compete clause, The New Day will be free to sign with any promotion in the world if they want to continue to wrestle.

Ever since leaving WWE, fans have discussed how possible it would be for All Elite Wrestling to sign Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.

With their recent post-release video about breaking free from the circus, The New Day or Daybreak could further elevate the AEW tag team division to unreal heights moving forward.

7. Zoey Serrano (Zoey Stark)

In April 2026, WWE had its latest round of mass talent cuts with over 30 wrestlers being released from the company.

Among the names included in these releases was Zoey Stark who had been working for the promotion for five years.

In her post-release video, Stark announced that she will now be going by the name of Zoey Serrano and will be appearing on a number of independent shows in the coming months.

Considering her indie background and the experience in WWE, Tony Khan could further bolster the ranks of the AEW women’s division with a reliable in-ring worker like Serrano.

6. Joseph Sawyer (Joe Gacy)

One of the more disappointing names to be included in WWE’s most recent mass releases was Joe Gacy of The Wyatt Sicks.

With the entire stable being released, it feels like The Wyatt Sicks may not be sticking together post-release.

Gacy has since returned to the independent scene where he has redubbed himself as Joseph Sawyer.

With his Switchblade Conspiracy stablemates Jon Moxley and Sami Callihan working on and off the camera for the company, it would make a ton of sense for Sawyer to reunite with them in All Elite Wrestling if he decides to sign.

5. Kay Lee Ray (Alba Fyre)

To many fans, Alba Fyre was the most underrated of the performers who was released from the company in April.

However, Fyre has reinvented herself under her original moniker of Kay Lee Ray and returned to the indies.

Having already made her way back to Pro Wrestling EVE, Ray seems to be getting her feet wet and should not have to wait long before a major promotion is calling her.

KLR could be counted on to deliver exceptional matches and put over other talent around her with her years of experience that would make her a useful addition to what AEW has in its women’s division right now.

4. Romeo Malverde (Santos Escobar)

Another recent WWE release who has tried to reinvent himself as well is Romeo Malverde.

Once known as Santos Escobar, Malverde is looking to pave a new path to the top of the wrestling industry outside of the WWE bubble.

The former Santos Escobar is a skilled and knowledgeable in-ring performer who can be a top star for any promotion if given the opportunity.

Malverde now has the chance to prove all the naysayers wrong and may look to continue that trend by signing with All Elite Wrestling in the coming months.

3. S Farrelly (Sheamus)

For many fans around the world, they believed Sheamus would be considered a “WWE lifer.”

However, Sheamus announced that he was leaving WWE after a contract dispute with the promotion.

‘The Celtic Warrior’ has become known for his hard hitting, physical encounters that would fit in better in All Elite Wrestling than it does with WWE.

Sheamus making the jump to AEW could prove to be very intriguing and offer some compelling directions to go towards ahead.

2. KAIRI (Kairi Sane)

The most shocking name in the recent round of WWE releases in April 2026 had to have been Kairi Sane.

The former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion was in the middle of a heated storyline with Asuka and IYO SKY.

With Sane’s absence, SKY went on to defeat Asuka at WWE Backlash before ‘The Empress of Tomorrow’ decided to take some time off.

With agent Barry Bloom representing her, it has become a hot topic that Sane could be the next former WWE star to sign with AEW and hold a lot of significance to the company moving forward.

1. Bayley

At the July 18 edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, Lyra Valkyria defeated Bayley. After the match, Valkyria viciously assaulted Bayley at ringside.

This led to many fans and pundits speculating if this could possibly lead to the end of Bayley’s WWE run.

Considering her contract will expire this year, Bayley might be about to make the most important decision of her career.

Whether it is due to money or even just working with her best friend Mercedes Mone, Bayley would be a massive acquisition for All Elite Wrestling and would instantly make the women’s scene more intriguing than it’s ever been.
