WWE NXT Heatwave 2026 will take place from Edinburg, Texas on Sunday, August 30 and should prove to be a major show for the brand.

Considering how much eyes will be on this show, WWE NXT could introduce some new stars at this massive event.

From talent coming in from elsewhere to those being elevated from within, there is a lot of potential for some exciting debuts to take place at Heatwave on August 30.

Here are seven potential debuts at WWE NXT Heatwave 2026.

7. Elijah Holyfield

On WWE LFG, Elijah Holyfield has kickstarted his WWE career by learning from legends like The Undertaker, Booker T and Bubba Ray Dudley.

This has led to new opportunities for the son of legendary boxer Evander Holyfield on the Evolve brand.

Despite his success on LFG and Evolve, Holyfield has yet to compete in action on an episode of WWE NXT at the time of this writing.

Looking at his trajectory within the company as of late, it would make sense if WWE made Elijah Holyfield make his debut on the brand at a major event like NXT Heatwave 2026.

6. Richard Holliday

Over the past few months, there have been rumors and reports about WWE’s interest in independent star Richard Holliday.

Having showcased his skills at several recent WWE tryouts, Holliday is one of the most experienced talents on the indies right now.

With all the attention they have been giving him, the company would be wise to acquire Holliday where he could contribute a lot to the NXT brand.

Holliday has plenty of knowledge inside the squared circle that should make him a star who can rise to prominence on NXT after making a major debut at Heatwave 2026 on August 30.

5. The Dropouts (Scott Green & The Tuckman)

When looking at the independent scene, there might not be a more charismatic tag team than The Dropouts right now.

Coming up on the Australian independent wrestling circuit, Scott Green and The Tuckman have stood out thanks to their engaging entrance and impressive in-ring ability.

Looking at the WWE NXT brand, the tag team division has been lacking in new names to freshen things up in a major way.

The Dropouts debuting at WWE NXT Heatwave 2026 could create some intriguing matchups against the likes of The Vanity Project, Dark State and Birthright that would put the tag scene right back into the spotlight.

4. Max Caster

Fans have been wondering about the recent absence of Max Caster from AEW television over the past year.

Throughout 2026, the former AEW World Tag Team Champion has not appeared on Dynamite, Collision or pay-per-view for the company.

Recent reports have indicated that Caster’s AEW contract is set to expire later this year at some point.

Caster leaving AEW to head to WWE would make for an interesting scenario that the company should capitalize on with a surprise debut at NXT Heatwave 2026 against All In London on August 30.

3. Harlem Lewis

Another WWE LFG star that has been getting attention and climbing the ladder on his way to NXT is Harlem Lewis.

Over the past year, Lewis established himself on Evolve, made it to the Finals of LFG Season 2 and even got a stint over in Japan for Pro Wrestling NOAH.

After a whirlwind 12 months, Lewis recently defeated Aaron Rourke to win the WWE Evolve Men’s Championship.

Considering his current rise and the history of past Evolve champions being called up to the brand, Lewis making his presence felt at WWE NXT Heatwave 2026 would make for an excellent way to introduce this upstart on a significant stage.

2. Leon Slater

Over the past year, TNA Wrestling star Leon Slater has been making appearances on WWE television as part of the working relationship between the two companies.

This led to Slater even getting an endorsement from John Cena by competing on his retirement show at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in December 2025.

Over in his home promotion, Slater set the record as the youngest TNA X-Division Champion of all time and tied the record for the longest reign in the title’s history.

With his contract set to expire later this year, WWE could give Slater a grand introduction as an official NXT talent at Heatwave 2026 to show the world where they view this new signing.

1. Hiromu Takahashi

Another potential free agent signing that deserves their debut on a stage like WWE NXT Heatwave 2026 is Hiromu Takahashi.

‘The Ticking Time Bomb’ is someone with plenty of experience from a 15-year stint with New Japan Pro Wrestling where he earned the reputation as one of the greatest junior heavyweights in the history of the company.

Following in the footsteps of his former NJPW colleague and Los Ingobernables de Japon stablemate Naraku, Takahashi could be the next Japanese talent to sign with WWE this year.

Bringing Hiromu Takahashi into the company, WWE would be wise to give his debut the stage of Heatwave 2026 to introduce the former five-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion in an impactful way.
