The August 3 edition of WWE Raw ended with Lucha Libre AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio hinting that he had a proposition for ‘The OTC’ Roman Reigns.

This could be setting up Reigns making a future appearance on one of the upcoming AAA events with two of their next major shows going head-to-head with AEW pay-per-views.

Considering his level of star power, Reigns will be the biggest name to ever appear on an AAA event in recent memory and should be in line for a formidable opponent at the said event.

Here are seven potential Roman Reigns WWE AAA opponents.

7. Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio is someone who is more than familiar with Roman Reigns from various points of his career.

Whether it be his time in The Shield or becoming ‘The Tribal Chief,’ Mysterio has been on the opposite side of the ring from Reigns on multiple occasions in the past.

With it being years since these two last squared off, a clash between Mysterio and Reigns would feel fresh in 2026.

Mysterio being Reigns’ AAA opponent would put two of the biggest names in all of wrestling against one another and make this upcoming event even more enticing.

6. La Parka

Looking at the Lucha Libre AAA roster, there might not be anyone as popular right now as La Parka.

With his charisma and dancing, Parka always captures the imagination of the fans in Mexico and has established himself as one of the most featured names in the company.

Continuing the lineage of this famous character, Parka could place himself in position for the most important bout of his young career.

With Roman Reigns being the current World Heavyweight Champion, Parka would have the chance to shock the world with an upset inside an AAA ring.

One of the newest stars on the Lucha Libre AAA roster that has been making a name for himself as of late is Galeno.

With his sheer size, strength and power, Galeno has turned heads in a major way since arriving in AAA.

Galeno has everything it should take to be a more than tough test for Roman Reigns if he decides to show up in Lucha Libre AAA.

Speaking of Galeno, his brother El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. has established himself as one of the best that Lucha Libre AAA has to offer right now.

Since arriving in AAA, Wagner 3G is a former AAA Latin American Champion and has been across the ring from the top stars in the promotion.

To show just how much potential he has moving forward, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. could immediately thrust himself into the spotlight by being chosen to face Roman Reigns.

Wanting to place his name among the biggest stars in all of AAA right now, Wagner 3G would make for an intriguing opponent for Reigns at a major event coming soon.

3. Omos

When talking about size and power in AAA, the conversation starts and stops with ‘The Nigerian Giant’ Omos.

Since arriving in AAA back in 2025, Omos has been one of the feared and intimidating presences in the promotion.

Joining forces with Dorian Roldan and El Ojo, Omos has been a force to be reckoned with and someone that should be a priority for Lucha Libre AAA for the foreseeable future.

While he is a WWE star, Omos being one of the most featured names on AAA TV as of late would make for a compelling opponent to see clash with Roman Reigns on a major show.

2. Dominik Mysterio

In 2025, Dominik Mysterio captured the AAA Mega Championship and now sits atop of the Mexican promotion as ‘The King of the Luchadores.’

While he still has a presence on WWE Raw, Mysterio has been at the mountaintop of AAA for nearly a year now.

In the past, ‘Dirty Dom’ has battled Roman Reigns and The Bloodline, but that was a much different version of Dominik Mysterio.

Having improved greatly in the past few years, Mysterio could be the one to give Reigns a test as World Heavyweight Champion at this upcoming AAA event.

There is no one on the Lucha Libre AAA roster who has garnered more support and popularity from the Mexican fans than El Grande Americano.

The luchador has embraced the Mexican audience in a major way and become by far the most popular star in the entire country.

On his way to a shot at the AAA Mega Championship, Americano could put his name on the map even more by challenging Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Placing WWE’s biggest star in Reigns against AAA’s most popular star in El Grande should make for an exciting matchup that fans will never forget.
