On the July 28 edition of WWE NXT, Grayson Waller made a surprise return to cut a scathing promo on the entire NXT men’s roster.
After talking trash about everyone on the brand, Waller has become public enemy number one, but if he plans on getting his hands on the NXT Championship, he might need some backup.
Waller recruiting main roster WWE stars from both Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown could create a powerful NXT faction that might easily take over.
Here are seven main roster WWE stars to potentially join a Grayson Waller NXT faction.
7. The Creed Brothers (Julius & Brutus Creed)

The Creed Brothers held the NXT Tag Team Championship for over 90 days in 2022
When they first arrived on the NXT brand, The Creed Brothers were viewed as instant top contenders for championship gold.
It did not take too long before Julius and Brutus Creed captured the NXT Tag Team Championship and sat atop of the brand. This is why it wasn’t a surprise when they were called up to the WWE main roster.
The Creed Brothers are now on Monday Night Raw where they have not been prominently featured in months.
Dealing with the frustration of being underutilized after having high expectations for their main roster run, it might be time for The Creeds to join forces with Waller to take over NXT and get the attention they are looking for.
6. Ivy Nile

Ivy Nile pinned IYO SKY in March but hasn’t been on WWE Raw since then
Speaking of The Creed Brothers, the duo were part of the American Made stable with Ivy Nile.
However, fans have not seen Nile alongside Julius and Brutus Creed for nearly a year with no appearances for the WWE Raw star in months as well.
Nile joining an NXT faction consisting of frustrated and underused main roster stars would immediately give her more of a featured role moving forward.
Joining forces with Grayson Waller, Nile could go back to NXT where she has unfinished business because she was never able to win championship gold during her previous stint on the brand.
5. Jordynne Grace

Jordynne Grace has been absent from WWE SmackDown since April
At the start of 2026, Jordynne Grace moved from the WWE NXT brand to the main roster and became a member of Friday Night SmackDown.
Before signing with WWE in 2025, many fans viewed Grace as one of the best women’s wrestlers in the world.
After joining the company, ‘The Juggernaut’ has been featured as a formidable competitor in the squared circle, but she has been unable to capture championship gold.
Heading back to WWE NXT would be a wise move for Grace where her recent absence could turn into anger in her attacks on the roster alongside Grayson Waller.
4. Matt Cardona

Matt Cardona is on a run of seven straight singles losses on SmackDown
Another WWE star who has not been featured on a consistent basis in recent months is Matt Cardona.
The former Zack Ryder returned to WWE at the start of 2026 and looked to become a top talent on the main roster.
However, Cardona has not been able to find a prominent role on the WWE main roster since his return.
Cardona might find himself filled with rage due to finding himself in a similar position to the end of his first run and could align with Grayson Waller to head to NXT to take out his frustrations on everyone on the brand.
3. Shinsuke Nakamura

Shinsuke Nakamura has only had four matches since January 2026
Over the past few months, Shinsuke Nakamura has appeared on-and-off WWE main roster television.
Now part of the Friday Night SmackDown roster, ‘The King of Strong Style’ should be someone featured in a spotlighted role on WWE TV.
Nakamura is a veteran who can offer a lot to the young roster of talent on the NXT brand and potentially become a player-coach of sorts.
Needing some veteran presence in his group, Waller should invite Nakamura to his potential faction where he can use him as a weapon to take out whoever stands in his way to the NXT Championship.
2. Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom)

The Ascension are the only team to have held the NXT Tag Team Championship for longer than Fraxiom
In June 2026, Fraxiom made their return to the NXT brand to defeat Romeo Moreno and Noam Dar.
This exciting bout showed the world why Fraxiom was once recognized as one of the best tag teams in the world today.
However, Nathan Frazer and Axiom have been underutilized in the WWE tag team division since being called up to the main roster.
Fraxiom heading back to NXT could see them turn heel and align with Grayson Waller in what could be a powerful faction on the brand moving forward.
1. Ilja Dragunov

Ilja Dragunov has been off WWE TV since the pre-WrestleMania Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal in April
There might not be anyone who is absent from WWE television in recent months that has been talked about more than Ilja Dragunov.
‘The Mad Dragon’ has established himself as one of the most talented, versatile and intense in-ring performers on the WWE main roster right now.
Despite all of the excellent matches he has delivered, Dragunov has been missing from WWE programming over the past few months.
Dragunov showing his frustration with his current position could see him join Grayson Waller to run roughshod over the NXT brand he once represented as their champion proudly before getting called up.
