Top WWE Star Spotted At Performance Center, Hall Of Famer Also Expected To Appear

A top WWE star was reportedly spotted at the Performance Center today (August 4), with another notable name expected to appear.

This past weekend saw Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk successfully defend his title for the first time when he defeated Cody Rhodes, with some assistance from a returning Randy Orton.

Before CM Punk heads to SmackDown this Friday in Philadelphia (August 7) – potentially to come face-to-face with his next challenger Kevin Owens – the ‘Best in the World’ has reportedly stopped by the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, according to a new report from PWInsiderElite.

It’s not known what Punk is doing at the Performance Center specifically, but we will provide further updates if more information becomes available.

While Punk is at the PC today, PWInsiderElite have also revealed that “the word making the rounds among NXT talents” is that WWE Hall of Famer Sean Waltman (X-Pac) is also expected to be making an appearance in Orlando later this month.

Waltman, like CM Punk, was also present for SummerSlam Night One in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with the former D-Generation X star being shown in the crowd alongside fellow WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Hart.

Waltman also served as the co-host of WWE’s SummerSlam Night One recap edition of WWE Now alongside Sam Roberts, and the former WWE European Champion weighed in on a number of topics, including Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar’s Hell in a Cell match.

 

CM Punk Stands Atop A Stacked WWE SmackDown Main Event Title Picture

The returns of Randy Orton and Kevin Owens over SummerSlam weekend present leave SmackDown as easily the most stacked brand in terms of main event talent in quite some time.

Even before ‘The Viper’ and ‘The Prizefighter’ came back this could have been said without too much argument, but now, CM Punk has an abundance of potential next challengers heading into the latter months of the year.

Kevin Owens will be first up to bat, and a feud between he and CM Punk is something fans have been clamouring for since Punk returned to WWE in November 2023.

Knowing that Owens and Punk legitimately do not see eye-to-eye will make the feud one to remember, with questions also lingering in regards to how Sami Zayn will factor into things.

Zayn obviously also hates Punk after losing his Undisputed WWE Title to him after just nine days in July, but was forced to miss out on a rematch with the ‘Best in the World’ due to his best friend Owens returning unannounced at SummerSlam to take a spot in Zayn’s number one contenders match with Finn Balor.

While Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes will likely branch off into their own feud, GUNTHER and Balor could also potentially do the same if WWE can’t find a way to keep them factored into the Undisputed WWE Title scene post-SummerSlam.
