A high-ranking official, who worked closely with WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H, has departed WWE according to new report.

PWInsiderElite have today (August 4) revealed that WWE’s Senior Vice President of Global Strategy & Corporate Development Patrick Dooley is gone from the company.

Dooley began with WWE in 2018 as the Director of Global Strategy before moving up to his aforementioned position in December 2023.

As detailed by PWInsider’s report, this role saw him work as Triple H’s “number two” when it came to matters outside of WWE creative, and was directly involved in major deals such as WWE’s purchase of Lucha Libre AAA in 2025, AAA’s TV deal with FOX Latin America and NXT’s return to Full Sail University.

While his departure was only just reported, Dooley was said to have actually exited the company “quietly” in late July, around the time as “other budget cut departures.”

We will provide any further details regarding Dooley’s exit if they become known.

2026: Another Year Of Notable WWE Departures

2026 has been yet another busy year of comings and goings in WWE, both in terms of on-screen talent and behind the scenes names.

On the executive level, we had notable exits such as former WWE SmackDown co-lead writer ‘Road Dogg’ Brian James departing in March and 25-year WWE veteran producer and director Gavin O’Shea in May.

Then, on a talent side, one month in between those exits we had over two dozen wrestlers either released or departing the company at the end of their contracts, with high profile names such as Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston, Aleister Black, Kairi Sane and the entire Wyatt Sicks among those gone.

Sheamus was added to that list last month having turned down a restructured WWE contract – like The New Day – and just last week WWE Evolve wrestler Kai Kavarai (Cyrus Habibi-Likio) also announced his exit for reasons relating to having to relocate to Florida.

Of the higher profile WWE exits, only Motor City Machine Guns have moved to AEW thus far, however, The New Day are also widely expected to join them.
