Pros & Cons To WWE’s WrestleMania 36 Plan

5. Pro: WrestleMania Is Important To The Entire Business

Usually, WrestleMania is not just the show itself. It is WWE Axxess, the Hall of Fame and NXT Takeover.

And that is not all. Wrestling promotions around the world come to the city that hosts the grandest stage of them all.

As it currently stands, WWE already is losing millions of dollars with the event not happening in the previously planned format.

Of course you could postpone the show and hope for the best, but in March/April the attention for wrestling is usually at the highest point all year.

The entire business is feeding off the mainstream attention in one way or another, WrestleMania completely being moved would probably risk that.

6. Con: The Magic Of WrestleMania Is Gone

As mentioned often throughout this text, WrestleMania is the Granddaddy of them all. The Show of Shows. Simply the biggest spectacle in wrestling.

Now it is going to happen at the WWE Performance Center (and other empty venues), far away from what WrestleMania is all about.

Maybe dropping SummerSlam and having WrestleMania in August is a better solution than this.

7. Pro: WWE Can Not Artificially Extend The Storylines

One major problem WWE is facing, unlike other sports shows, is having storylines and feuds progressing on their weekly shows.

However, storylines are essential to the product. It does not make much sense to keep a rivalry alive over months and months.

Every storyline has a sell-by date. If it goes beyond this, people are going to lose interest and all the work and money put in it will be worth nothing.
