1. The Largest Ever WWE Royal Rumble Match
In case you weren’t aware, and it’s not like they reminded us every 20 seconds or anything, last night’s 50-man Royal Rumble match was the largest of its kind in WWE history.
Previous to last night, there had only ever been one Royal Rumble match in WWE that had included more than the usual 30 entrants. That was the 2011 edition, which included 40 participants, and was won by the controversial Alberto Del Rio (AKA Alberto El Patron), whose final elimination was… Santino Marella.
Much like Diesel in 2011, there were many surprise entrants at the Greatest Royal Rumble, as predicted, in order to make up the numbers.
These included the likes of former sumo wrestler Hiroki Sumi, NXT‘s Roderick Strong, and… Hornswoggle.
If you want to know more about Hiroki Sumi, because let’s be honest, none of us have a clue who he is, you can find out more about him via WWE.com here.
