What Should Happen – WWE Money In The Bank 2019

1. PreShow- Tony Nese (c) vs. Ariya Daivari – Cruiserweight Championship

Winner: Tony Nese

This will be Tony Nese’s second defence of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship he won at WrestleMania 35 from Buddy Murphy, and his first on pay-per-view. His opponent, Ariya Daivari walks into Money In The Bank having won all five of his matches in 2019, so both men are full of momentum heading into their championship clash.

This match is a real opportunity for Nese and Daivari to show there is more to being a cruiserweight than doing 450 splashes and hurricanranas. While both men have the ability to showcase a more high-flying style, a more mat-based matchup would be preferable here.

The match should last ten minutes, and be a back-and-forth hard-hitting affair. Nese should pick up the win and retain his title, but it should take two Running Kneeses to put the Iranian away. Having Daivari bested after two finishers means he does not lose credibility, while Nese gets the rub for ending his undefeated streak, building him up for a more high-profile challenger come SummerSlam or Survivor Series.
