7 WWE WrestleMania 40 Surprises For The Rock, Roman Reigns & Cody Rhodes

7 WWE WrestleMania 40 Surprises For The Rock, Roman Reigns & Cody Rhodes WWE

After perhaps the most stressful week of any Cody Rhodes fan’s life, all is well in the world and we now know for sure that Cody Rhodes will have his chance to ‘Finish The Story’ at WrestleMania 40.

The WrestleMania Kick-Off Press Event certainly didn’t go how many of us or many backstage insiders expected, with many exciting possibilities stemming from this new heel version of The Rock and unexpected allegiance with Roman Reigns.

With Cody vs. Reigns receiving an official match graphic, it seems safe to assume things shouldn’t deviate as drastically as they seemed to after last week’s SmackDown (February 2).

However, there is still two months to go until we get to that match, with plenty story beats and twists expected to be hit along the way – and plenty more surprises WWE could pencil in for WrestleMania itself.

So join us in attempting to take a stab at what some of those shock moments may in fact be at WrestleMania 40, with some carrying the potential to shift the landscape of WWE drastically once all is said and done on April 6 & 7.

7. The Rock Beats Seth Rollins For The World Heavyweight Championship

With Cody officially choosing Reigns as his opponent for WrestleMania, one of the biggest questions now becomes what will now be Seth Rollins’ role at the Grandest Stage of Them All.

A tag team match with Cody to take on the two man power trip of Reigns and Rock has been reported to be a possibility, however, one would assume that The Visionary will still have to defend his World Heavyweight Championship.

The challenger of which will likely be determined at the Elimination Chamber on February 24, as seemed to be on the cards prior to CM Punk’s triceps tear.

So, what’s to say The Rock doesn’t enter the match in Perth and earn that right… Or more likely, exact his authority as a TKO board member and take it.

This would be an excellent way to establish his heel corporate Rock persona, and provide Rollins a challenger that also furthers the storyline that he has been dragged into. I would much rather Sami Zayn & Drew McIntyre got that spot, but I digress.
