WrestleTalk Writers Predict: WrestleMania 35

2. What will Rowdy Ronda Rousey’s role be at WrestleMania 35?

Kevin Cavanagh: I sort of answered this in the first question, but I can talk more about how Ronda might get to WrestleMania 35. At some point during the year, Charlotte Flair wins the WWE Raw Women’s Championship. It’s possible that it will be at the expense of Nia Jax, which would give Charlotte an avenue to turn heel. At some point before the Royal Rumble, Charlotte and Ronda should work together to build some animosity. This sets the stage for Rowdy Ronda Rousey to cruise to victory in the Royal Rumble and challenges Charlotte. It’s time the WWE gets back to the Royal Rumble winner actually being in the main event!

Andy Datson: She’ll be in a title match, either as the dominating champion or aiming to win a belt. Before WrestleMania 34, I would have said she’d be facing Asuka, but now the streak is over, that match seems like a far less likely prospect. Just basing it on the main roster, you would look at the likes of Charlotte to be a good opponent for Rousey. There has even been some suggestion that the women’s division could main event WrestleMania 35 and Ronda would be the sort of name that would make this seem like a very good decision.

Brian Joyce: By WrestleMania 35 Ronda Rousey will have transitioned into a legitimate singles star in the women’s division. In doing so she will find herself in the biggest women’s money match in WrestleMania history, Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte. In terms of how this happens, I believe Rousey wins the WWE Raw Women’s Championship at some point this year and Charlotte wins the Royal Rumble to challenge Rousey at WrestleMania 35.

Shaun Shine: After her debut at WrestleMania 34, which was arguably the match of the night, I can only see Ronda sprinting towards a championship run in WWE. There’s certainly no need for that to be rushed, and it’s fair to say that she doesn’t need a title run right now. But, the idea of seeing her win gold at one of the later-in-the-card matches at WrestleMania 35 is very appealing. With the right opponent, maybe she could even be in the first women’s match to close WrestleMania.
