Lucha House Party vs. The Brian Kendrick & Jack Gallagher
Strangely, Drew Gulak joined Vic Joseph and crew on commentary for this match. He continued to criticize the high-flying antics of Metalik and Dorado throughout the action. Gallagher & Kendrick spent the majority of the match keeping the Luchadors in their corner. After breaking free of isolation, Dorado and Metalik gained the advantage over the heel team. Following stereo suicide dives, Lince hit a Shooting Star Press for the win.
Result: Lucha House Party def. The Brian Kendrick & Jack Gallagher.
This was a slow opening bout, but the action at the end was excellent. Gran Metalik continues to be one of the best on the ropes in all of WWE. I don’t understand the idea behind Gulak on commentary, though. He did just come off a set of matches against Kalisto, but he has no clear business in the 205 tag team ranks. Speaking of, Nigel McGuinness teased the introduction of Cruiserweight Tag Team Championships, saying Drake Maverick may introduce them as another way to shake things up. Usually, the company doesn’t outwardly tease new championships, so I’d imagine he was told to mention the concept, and those belts are indeed on the horizon.
