The downfall of Roman Reigns in WWE: The 946 & LA Knight are the biggest threat to The OTC

Roman Reigns may be the Head of the Table and World Heavyweight Champion, but it could all come to an end in the very near future.

With WWE Money in the Bank on October 10, Roman Reigns defends the World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight, with the challenger making it clear that it is now his moment, having been held back by politics and stars like The OTC.

For The Bloodline, their numbers have been affected by the arrival of The 946, with Jacob Fatu recently taken out by Jaida Parker, now aligned with the Royce Keys-led faction.

An attack on two fronts may be too much for Roman Reigns to manage, particularly with so much at stake:

A part-time star with a top championship

The World Heavyweight Champion since defeating CM Punk for the title at WrestleMania 42 on April 19, Roman Reigns has defended the title four times since it changed hands.

Victories over Jacob Fatu at Backlash and Clash in Italy back in May were followed by wins over Seth Rollins at SummerSlam on August 2 and Penta on the September 14 episode of Raw.

There are arguments to be made that a title around the waist of Roman Reigns has added prestige, but also that a title should perhaps be defended on a more consistent basis than it has been. Having captured the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40, Damian Priest would say:

“I want to be the type of champion that Seth Rollins was, a workhorse. I want to defend the title. I want to take on everyone and anyone at any point.”

If LA Knight can claim his first top WWE championship, there’s every chance that it could be returned to that “workhorse” status, leaving Reigns free to handle business elsewhere.

The unrelenting threat of The 946

“One by one”, it was a simple promise from Royce Keys as he targeted The Bloodline.

Recent weeks saw a heightening of aggression, with Solo Sikoa abducted and driven to a remote location and Jacob Fatu being taken out by a car.

Then there’s the fractious relationship within The Bloodline, despite Fatu recently saying he wanted them all to bring it together to counter the threat.

Royce Keys, Lucien Price, Bronco Nima and the recently added Jaida Parker clearly mean business, and it’s entirely possible that more members will be added to The 946, something that is more difficult to do with The Bloodline, given its legacy.

With Fatu out of action and Sikoa still missing, Roman Reigns will return to WWE Raw on October 5 to find The Bloodline depleted and isolated.

The Road To Survivor Series: WarGames

Regardless of the outcome of Money in the Bank, Roman Reigns is likely to be involved at Survivor Series: WarGames on November 28, having been included in publicity for the event in Houston, Texas.

It would be a surprise if the men’s WarGames match didn’t see The Bloodline and associates face off against The 946, potentially with enough members to fill out a team of five by that time.

A brutal match inside the WarGames cage would be an ideal way to witness the downfall of Roman Reigns, writing the star off television in the hunt for a new direction for the key player.
