WWE NXT star Oba Femi, who’s only 22 years old, has commented after his first championship win which took place on January 9.
After Dragon Lee had retained the NXT North American Championship against Lexis King (Brian Pillman Jr) in what was purported to be the last match of the night, Oba Femi made his way to the ring.
Armed with a contract for a championship match he’d be able to cash-in at any time via his win in the recent NXT men’s breakout tournament, Femi declared that this was that time.
What followed was a short match which saw Femi dominate Lee and win the North American Title.
In a backstage interview released by WWE after the show, Femi was asked what we can expect from his reign as champion.
He replied with a simple one word answer: “Domination.”
Femi had only had four matches on NXT TV before his title win, three of which were in the aforementioned breakout tournament in the past month.
Being 22, he’s also the youngest North American Champion of all time.
