AEW’s Kenny Omega was forced to relinquish the AAA Mega Title as he’s set to undergo multiple surgeries. Omega’s reign with the gold lasted 765 days, the longest single reign in the championship’s 14 year history.
AEW has worked with AAA since the US promotion’s inception, with the AAA Tag Team Championship recently changing hands live on Dynamite.
AEW also reportedly played a role in plans changing for the finish of Kenny Omega vs Andrade El Idolo at TripleMania in August.
