Adam Cole has revealed when he decided that he was going to join AEW, ahead of his surprise appearance at All Out on September 5.
It was previously reported that Cole only officially signed with AEW on the day of All Out. Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Cole stated that he only decided he wanted to be a part of the AEW roster days before the pay-per-view.
Recalling his excitement, Cole said:
“My actual decision was literally only a couple days before (All Out ). I was awake in bed, it was close to 1 in the morning, and I was imagining being involved in AEW. That thought gave me such an excited feeling. I was so giddy I couldn’t even sleep. I loved the idea of coming to All Elite Wrestling, and that’s when I knew what I needed to do.”
Cole also detailed the precautions taken by himself and AEW in order to keep his All Out appearance a secret. He is set to make his in-ring debut for the promotion on Dynamite against Frankie Kazarian.
A recent report revealed one of WWE’s original plans for Adam Cole on the main roster, had he re-signed with the company.
