AEW
Two big time matches have been confirmed for the upcoming AEW All Out pay-per-view event in Chicago on September 26.
Taking place at NOW Arena, All Out will be going head to head on the same day with the WWE, NXT and AAA Worlds Collide event that’ll be headlined by CM Punk, also in Chicago, at Allstate Arena.
Coming out of this past Sunday’s All In London show at Wembley Stadium, AEW is already building its All Out card with two big championship matches set.
First up is an AEW World Tag Team Championship match after Adam Copeland & Christian Cage retained the title against the Young Bucks at All In.
The Bucks went out to the ring on Dynamite tonight to address the loss, but they were interrupted by FTR who returned at Wembley after that match.
With both teams staking a claim to the next title shot, Cope and Cage came out onto the stage with some news, but first Cage referenced the WWE departure of New Level (New Day) and the circumstances surrounding it, by saying:
“I’m surprised you aren’t more embarassed. I’m surprised you’re not so embarrassed that you wouldn’t consider willingly taking a 50% paycut and going somewhere else, rather than be embarrassed by Cage and Cope yet again.”
After Cage had gotten that off his chest, Cope had some news, as he announced that All Out will play host to a three-way match between Cope & Cage, FTR and the Young Bucks for the AEW World Tag Team Title.
The match will be a TLC match as a callback to Cope & Cage’s legendary TLC matches in WWE as Edge & Christian against the Hardy Boyz and the Dudley Boyz in 2001.
We’ll have to see if they can actually call it ‘TLC,’ but that’s what it is anyway.
Will Ospreay’s AEW All Out Challenger
Later in the show, Will Ospreay’s first challenger for the AEW World Championship was confirmed after he won the title from Kenny Omega in the All In London main event.
Tonight’s Dynamite main event saw Ospreay team with the United Empire and Andrade El Idolo in a 10-man tag team victory against The Demand and The Dogs.
Post-match, Gabe Kidd attempted to attack Ospreay, but was stopped in his tracks by Jon Moxley.
Moxley, who arguably guided Ospreay on his path to his All In title win, then stood in the ring with Ospreay when a graphic came up on the big screen for All Out – it will be Ospreay defending the title against Moxley at the pay-per-view later this month.
