AEW Star Responds To Controversy Surrounding WWE Legend’s Recent Performance

AEW star Austin Gunn has reacted to criticism of his father WWE legend Billy Gunn following Billy’s match on this week’s Dynamite.

Billy Gunn was in action on Wednesday’s (April 3) edition of Dynamite, facing off against Jay White in singles action.

The bout ended with White being disqualified after White hit Billy with a low blow, after the wrestling veteran was distracted by Austin and Colten Gunn. This led to a brawl between Billy Gunn & The Acclaimed, and Jay White, Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn.

Some fans have been critical of the match for how much offense Gunn got in on White rather than it being the other way around.

Austin Gunn has now responded to fan criticism surrounding Billy Gunn’s performance in the bout.

Recalling Billy Gunn’s WWE accolades, Austin tweeted:

Billy Gunn currently holds the AEW Trios Championship alongside Anthony Bowen and Max Caster of the Acclaimed.

The trio won the gold from the House of Black at All In London in August 2023.
