AEW Star Calls Out The ‘Top Name’ Who Leaked That They Left Dynamite In A ‘Bad Mood’ Because Of CM Punk

AEW Tag Team Champion Dax Harwood has now addressed reports about backstage ‘divisiveness’ following CM Punk’s return to TV.

CM Punk made his AEW return on the June 17 debut episode of Collision.

During this episode, Punk cut a promo in which he took a dig at the Young Bucks and other “soft” wrestlers, before teaming with Harwood and Cash Wheeler to defeat Jay White, Juice Robinson and Samoa Joe in trios action.

Speaking with POST Wrestling ahead of Dynamite, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer indicated that there’s a lot of “divisiveness” backstage after what Punk said in his return, as well as the ESPN interview that released before Collision, and that things are at a “pretty bad point” again.

And then in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter today, Meltzer reported that a “top name” told him they were in a “bad mood” leaving Dynamite because of the whole situation. He wrote:

But one top name noted to us that they went home after the show on Wednesday in a bad mood and even with the key people kept apart and not on the same shows, described the fear of this being a ticking time bomb that will not have a happy ending.

Punk was present at Dynamite this week due to the show being in Chicago, which meant The Elite weren’t at the show. The expectation going forward is that The Elite will be on Dynamite and Punk will be on Collision with just a few exceptions like this week.

Dax Harwood has taken to Twitter to address these reports, sharing photos and videos of his daughter Finley at the June 21 Dynamite taping.

Harwood captioned the post:

I can’t thank everyone in AEW enough for how well they treated Finley this week at Dynamite. You all made her feel so special.

If there is a “divisiveness” that a certain individual is reporting, I didn’t see it AT ALL. Check the Collision locker room too. This is a family.

In follow-up tweets, Harwood wrote:

Ok I deleted the last one because f**k it, I took too much preworkout. Y’all screenshotted it so LFG!! Face is itching! Chest day! Collision tomorrow!

Also, Finley has officially done more flips in her wrestling career than I have. Not proud.

Separately addressing the report that someone at Dynamite left in a “bad mood”, Harwood tweeted:

This one will get me some heat, but f**k it, it needs to be said. Whatever “top star” left the show in a BaD MoOd because a certain individual was there; instead of running to Dave, why not just tell the individual face to face. That’s how we used to do things back in the day.

It was officially announced on Dynamite that Punk will face Satoshi Kojima at AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door, in an Owen Hart Foundation tournament match after KENTA rejected a match with Punk.

This means Punk and The Elite will all be on that show, which is expected to be a rare occurrence as they legally aren’t allowed to interact with each other.

Punk went on record in last week’s interview with ESPN saying that he had attempted to contact members of The Elite after All Out, but the response was letters from attorneys telling him not to.

Since then, the two sides haven’t had any kind of interaction with each other.
