An AEW star who made a surprise return at AEW Double or Nothing has commented on their future and what they hope to bring to the championship.
After shocking everyone by making a surprise return at AEW Double or Nothing to not only end Jade Cargill’s undefeated streak but also capture the TBS Championship, Kris Statlander participated in the post-show media scrum.
When asked by Amy Nemmity from WrestleJoy, how Statlander might see her TBS Championship reign she said:
“I would say, aim for the stars and hopefully I could have a reign as long as hers [Jade Cargills] and if that doesn’t happen I want it to be fulfilling for not just me but for the company, for the fans, I want everything I do to mean something.
“I don’t want to say it has been a long time coming but I had to blow out two knees to get here and a lot of times recovering from injuries like that… I’ve said a lot of self doubt a lot of times but I’m not only going to prove to everyone that I deserve to be champion but also take the time to prove it to myself as well.”
Kris Statlander made her surprise return after Jade Cargill had already overcome her first challenger of the night.
Jade beat Taya Valkyrie at AEW Double or Nothing to initially retain both her title and her undefeated streak however after putting out an open challenge mentioning there was no other competition for her in AEW.
Unfortunately however Kris Statlander had returned from an extended injury and was ready to not only answer the challenge, but capture the AEW TBS Championship.
