AEW Double Or Nothing Rematch Booked For AAA Show Next Month

One of the best matches from last night’s AEW Double or Nothing show was the tremendous 25-minute battle between the Lucha Bros and the Young Bucks over the former’s AAA World Tag Team Championships. Matt and Nick Jackson actually only won the titles from Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix in March 2019 at AAA’s Rey de Reyes show.

Fans who enjoyed that match and want to see more won’t have to wait too long, as the AAA promotion has announced that the Young Bucks will once again be defending their AAA World Tag Team Championships against the high-flying brothers. The match is set for the Verano de Escándalo show on June 16th.

Many have speculated that Fenix and Pentagon Jr. will win the titles back at the show next month as Nick and Matt Jackson are not AAA-regulars. However, the Mexican promotion and AEW have a working agreement, so it is not out of the realms of possibility that the Young Bucks retain their titles, and continue occasionally appearing on AAA shows to defend them.

It was previously reported that both Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix sustained injuries during their match with The Elite members at Double or Nothing. However, the fact that AAA has since booked this match and advertised it to fans seemingly confirms that their injuries are thankfully not serious.
