Did Adam Copeland Beat Christian Cage For The AEW TNT Championship AEW

Find out if Adam Copeland was able to beat Christian Cage on AEW Dynamite in Montreal for the TNT Championship.

AEW Dynamite’s main event tonight (December 6) match featured two stars going against each other for the first time in singles action in over a decade as Adam Copeland (formerly known as Edge in WWE) challenged Christian Cage for the AEW TNT Championship.

While the pair may have been well known in their WWE past for tag team wrestling, the former friends turned foes have been on opposing sides thus far in AEW since Copeland joined the company in October 2023.

On tonight’s Dynamite, their feud boiled over as the pair had a singles match for the TNT Championship after weeks of increasingly personal attacks and insults.

However, in the end it was some big outside interference from Shayna Wayne (Nick Wayne’s Mom) that sealed the fate for Copeland.

After last week saw Copeland hit a con-chair-to on Nick Wayne in front of his mom, this week when referee Bryce Remsburg was knocked down and Shayna came out to the ring, it was anyone’s guess what she might do.

Would she attack Cage who had seemingly corrupted her son, or Copeland who had assaulted him? In the end, after some contemplation, Nick Wayne’s mom was holding the TNT Championship belt when she chose who to attack.

She struck Adam Copeland with the TNT Championship belt and left the ring, going back up the entrance ramp without looking back.

Cage then took the opportunity to stomp Copeland in the neck on top of the TNT Championship before hitting a Killswitch and eventually a roused Remsburg counted the pinfall victory on behalf of the champion.

So no, to answer the question posed in the headline: Adam Copeland did not beat Christian Cage for the TNT Championship on AEW Dynamite – and it was thanks to Nick Wayne’s mom Shayna.
