AEW star MJF believes he has something in common with several other wrestling megastars, including John Cena and The Rock.
While for most of MJF’s AEW career, the star has worked as a heel, MJF has exhibited some babyface traits during segments leading up to Full Gear.
Speaking with the New York Post, MJF noted that he wants fans to choose how they want to react to him.
Believing that all the top megastars have mixed reactions, MJF said:
“Being anything other than myself, fully authentically, doesn’t interest me. I am who I am.
“People will react to me the way they want to react to me. That’s megastar s**t. That’s John Cena s**t. That’s Rock s**t. That’s (Hulk) Hogan s**t.
“There were times in their career when they would come through that curtain and they got the loudest boo and there were times where they came through that curtain and they got the loudest cheer.
“That’s what I bring to the table. Think people need to stop worrying about fake bulls**t labels and just enjoy this ride because I’m over as s**t and it is fun.”
John Cena and The Rock are both currently working as Hollywood actors. MJF has now confirmed that he will be starring in the upcoming Von Erich film, The Iron Claw.
At the November 19 Full Gear pay-per-view, MJF will challenge for Jon Moxley’s AEW World Championship.
