A new report has discussed future AEW Dark tapings, noting that tryouts will be held to source talent from local areas for shows.
AEW Dark and Dark Elevation often allow unsigned wrestlers the opportunity to showcase their talents. The promotion will reportedly hold tryouts in the future to help find new performers for these shows.
The latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter pointed out that it appears that when AEW hits the road again, talent from local areas will have the opportunity to try-out for shows.
At a recent set of AEW tapings, unsigned extras were booked to wrestle for Dark, and be part of the live crowd for Dynamite. They were reportedly told that fulfilling all these acts would go a long way in the eyes of AEW management, and may get them booked in the future.
A number of competitors who had previously appeared on AEW Dark recently were spotted at the WWE Performance Center for WWE tryouts.
AEW were the first major wrestling promotion to announce a return to their touring schedule, hitting the road again on July 7. Since then, WWE announced that the July 16 episode of SmackDown will kick off their live-show return.
John Cena will reportedly make an appearance on this special episode of SmackDown. Another report has hinted at Cena headlining SummerSlam 2021 with a huge match.
