AEW Rampage Premiere Viewership Revealed

The viewership figures for the Friday, August 13 debut episode of AEW Rampage on TNT have now been revealed.

As per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, the first ever episode of AEW Rampage drew an impressive 740,000 viewers. For comparison, last week’s (August 11) edition of AEW Dynamite drew 979,000 viewers.

In the 18-49 demographic, the show received a 0.30 rating (396,000 viewers). Last Wednesday’s Dynamite achieved a 0.35 rating (454,000 viewers).

It is also worth pointing out that when AEW Dynamite was briefly moved to Fridays earlier this year, the highest viewership a Friday episode received was 552,000 viewers.

On AEW Rampage, Christian Cage pinned Kenny Omega to win the IMPACT World Championship. Cage defends his IMPACT gold against Brian Myers at Emergence on Friday.

Also on the show, Fuego Del Sol received an AEW contract, despite losing his match to TNT Champion Miro. AEW President Tony Khan has revealed Fuego Del Sol didn’t know he was going to receive the contract on air, calling the moment a “complete shoot“.

It has been heavily speculated that CM Punk will debut for AEW during this Friday’s episode of Rampage. Fuelling rumors, CM Punk has subtly hinted that he’ll be in Chicago on August 20.
