Sammy Guevara & Tay Melo Open Up About ‘Nervous’ Pregnancy Announcement AEW

Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo announced their pregnancy before the Four Pillars match at AEW Double or Nothing.

Using cue cards to reveal the moment to the fans, Guevara has gone on to share a touching video on his YouTube channel that can be seen below this news story.

The husband and wife team have recently spoken to TMZ Sports, sharing details of how the announcement came about and nerves over telling the world.

Melo would talk about the timing of the announcement, saying:

“The timing was perfect because it was at about three months, so we were comfortable to say it. I was like, ‘Well, let’s talk to TK and see what he thinks, and then let’s go, let’s do this.’”

Guevara would discuss the creative aspect of making the announcement public, adding:

“Then it was like how do we do it? What’s the best way to go about it? Maybe we don’t actually say. Maybe we write it on the poster boards and that says it for us.”

Melo would describe it as “fun” and a “cool and special moment”.

They would also discuss how nervous they were over making the announcement, revealing that Jungle Boy Jack Perry and referee Bryce Remsberg hugged Guevara.

Melo would go on to discuss how she thought the crowd would react, given the divisive response that the pair occasionally receive among the AEW fanbase.

She went on to reveal that she was surprised by the positivity of the reaction from the fans.

Guevara would also address the fan reaction after the announcement, saying:

“The crowd’s coming back around on me, but we were not always the most loved people out there, so for them to give us that big reaction, that everyone was happy and showing us the love, it was overwhelming in a way where I was like, ‘Okay, we gotta get back into it.”

Melo would also add her observation, stating:

“It was pretty cool, we didn’t know what to expect, and we talked about it before. I’m like, I don’t know, maybe the crowd is gonna boo, and then we just need to be ready for it because we never know what to expect.

“They were so excited, which made it so much better. I was about to cry because I was not really expecting the love, so it was really special.”

After the announcement, Guevara would have to focus on his match for the AEW World Championship which saw MJF retain in the Four Pillars match that also featured Jungle Boy Jack Perry and Darby Allin.
