At AEW Double or Nothing on Sunday, May 28, Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo shared the news that they were expecting their first child.
Before taking part in the Four Pillars Match for MJF’s AEW World Championship, Guevara resurrected his old cue card gimmick and announced the news to the fans.
The news would even play into the match itself, with MJF offering Guevara money to lie down and take the pin.
Guevara recently shared a video on his YouTube channel announcing the news to his follows over there, including footage of an ultrasound and their family members finding out.
In the video, Guevara reflects on how good Melo is with children and how he knows she will be a great mother, while promising that he will do his part to be a great father.
He would reveal they found out “a couple of months ago” and that they “didn’t know at the time, but Tay wrestled pregnant.”
All was fine though, with footage of an ultrasound showing a strong heartbeat.
The video also shows Guevara’s mother and Melo’s father discovering that they’re going to be grandparents, along with other members of the family learning the news over video call.
The full video can be seen below this news story.
WrestleTalk offers its congratulations to Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo.
