AEW Star Declares Former WWE Moniker ‘Is Dead’ AEW/WWE

After a potential opponent tried to resurrect their old WWE name on tonight’s AEW Collision, a star asserted that name is ‘dead’.

After the retirement of Sting, the AEW Tag Team Title was vacated by Darby Allin and it was announced that the new champs would be determined via a tournament.

After a string of recent losses, tonight’s Collision featured Tony Schiavone hosting an in-ring interview with FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) to discuss the tournament.

FTR declared entry, but another tag team interrupted them to make their 2024 television debut.

Despite their string of action in ROH, The Infantry (Captain Shawn Dean and Carlie Bravo) hadn’t appeared on AEW television in nearly a year.

When the Infantry brought up FTR’s former WWE name ‘Revival’ in a clearly deliberate way, (within the context of the Infantry leading a tag team revival) it was Dax who responded.

He informed them that ‘The Revival is dead’ and if the Infantry and FTR ended up meeting up in the tournament, the Infantry would be too.

Also in the segment it was revealed that March 16, next week’s episode of AEW Collision, would mark the start date for the tournament.

Other teams confirmed for the tournament thus far are the Young Bucks, and Orange Cassidy & Trent Beretta.
