Another WWE Championship Unification Match Announced

Another WWE Championship Unification Match Announced WWE

On tonight’s WWE SmackDown, another WWE Championship unification match was announced for some top stars.

With the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre still occupying the titles despite being drafted to SmackDown, they came out to the ring but were quickly interrupted.

Before they were able to adequately introduce themselves, they were joined by Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler.

With Baszler noting that she didn’t know if the pair were aware but the titles they were holding were essentially created for her and now, she wants them back.

Challenging the duo to a title unification match, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler want to hold all the tag team gold in the WWE Women’s division.

A brawl ensued however ended with Rousey pulling Baszler away, interestingly being able to be caught on camera telling her partner, “Don’t. They’ll get hurt then sit at home and whine about it and we’ll never get them!”

Sassy Ronda is on the loose everybody, look out!

It was announced the match will take place in two weeks, so on the June 23 episode of SmackDown.

It’s still not 100% clear what this means for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Title and whether it’ll go back to NXT after this “unification” match, but we’ll keep you updated.

Elsewhere tonight, a WWE Women’s Championship presentation and more Money in the Bank qualifying matches.

Up first in the action, Santos Escobar faced off against Mustafa Ali in a night that sees a total of four more qualifying matches for the upcoming premium live event.
