A top WWE star may be set to return during Asuka’s championship presentation on tonight’s SmackDown.
As previously reported, Asuka will be involved in a WWE Women’s Championship presentation on tonight’s June 9 episode of SmackDown.
WWE advertised this segment indicating that “The Empress of Tomorrow” will be presented with a new championship belt to replace her Raw Women’s Championship.
Per WRKD Wrestling, Asuka may be getting a new title, but it doesn’t make her The Queen.
This may be alluding to Charlotte Flair making a return to interrupt the championship presentation on tonight’s show. Flair has been absent from WWE programming since losing the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 39.
Meanwhile, Asuka defeated Bianca Belair to win the Raw Women’s Championship at WWE Night of Champions last month.
Also announced for tonight’s show, Jey Uso will make a choice regarding where his loyalty lies after Jimmy Uso betrayed Roman Reigns and four Money In The Bank qualifying matches will take place.
Notes ahead of tonight’s #Smackdown:
– Time is still running out for AJ Styles
– Asuka may be getting a new title but that doesn’t make her the Queen
– Butch and Escobar hope to climb the ladder
