Backstage Name Thinks These IMPACT/TNA Stars Would ‘Fit Perfect’ In WWE WWE, IMPACT Wrestling/TNA

A backstage WWE name has highlighted who on the IMPACT/TNA roster could potentially find success if they made the move to the company.

Speaking on his Oh You Didn’t Know podcast, current WWE Senior Vice President of Live Events ‘Road Dogg’ Brian James discussed his tenure in TNA, which he spent seven years with between 2002 and 2009.

During his tenure he worked with many top stars, and while a number of them did make the move to WWE eventually including AJ Styles, Samoa Joe and Bobby Roode, quite a few others never did.

Discussing who he felt could have succeeded in WWE from the TNA roster, James said:

“A lot of great talent came through there, but I feel like all of them had opportunities at other places too.

“The Motor City Machine Guns, as a team I think they would fit perfect, and I think they’d be good WWE Superstars.

“I don’t know how old they are now and if they’re ready still to run that kind of schedule, but I loved working with them when I was there.

“I knew they were the future and I knew I was already the past, I wasn’t even the present anymore. So, it was really fun to get to work with those guys.”

The team comprised of Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin are one of the acts most synonymous with TNA throughout its history, with both men still competing there to this day, with Shelley currently the IMPACT World Champion.

While Sabin never stepped foot inside a WWE ring, Shelley did in fact have a very brief spell in NXT, teaming alongside Kushida in the 2020 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
